Cameron Park, California

If you are looking for Cameron Park Real Estate, you have found it! Cameron Park is in the lovely Sierra foothills where the gold rush began back in 1848. The people flocking there today, though, aren't wanting gold; they're wanting--and finding--beautiful homesites with views of apple orchards, vineyards and even snow-capped mountain peaks. The area has always been rural, but is now changing towards a "country-upscale-suburban" feeling.

There are wineries close by featuring wine-tasting and special events, and the main streets in the area feature typical stores and pharmacies. The south fork of the American River is nearby and, popular as a challenging white water rafting area, it delights many people who enjoy being outdoors. This portion of the river has, unsurprisingly, been one of the locations for the filming of a dozen movies. Lake Tahoe, along with more snow country, is less than two hours east of this area.

The population in this area is rapidly increasing. This area proudly features good schools that enjoy strong support from parents, successful housing developments, a low crime rate, golf courses, parks and country clubs. Housing is quite a mixture here, from mobile homes to well-kept Victorian homes.

The most unique feature about Cameron Park, CA, is the airport that it has built right in the middle of the community. The surrounding homes, called "air estates," have wide driveways that run to the landing strip; residents land their planes and then taxi up their driveways and into their garages!

In the hills, the temperature runs about 10 degrees cooler than in the valley. Residents are above the fog line, and sometimes even see snow in the winter. There is a definite feeling of "country" in this area, and residents are working to keep that atmosphere by obtaining more land for parks, open space, trees, etc.
