Folsom, California
Folsom real estate is very popular because of the low crime and low traffic surrounding it. And while Folsom's early settlers sought fortunes in gold, its newest homeowners have come from the Bay Area, Southern California and other parts of Sacramento County seeking a haven from crime and traffic congestion.
Modern Folsom homes are now typically owned by individuals between 31 and 45 years old and who commute to Sacramento to work, according to the 1990 census.
About 25 miles east of downtown Sacramento, Folsom is the easternmost community in Sacramento County.
